Overview
AKF's Lighting Design Studio, directed by Susannah Zweighaft combines the art and science of lighting design to create the desired environment, light levels and cost effective solutions for any interior or exterior space. Susannah is a certified lighting professional with over 22 years of experience in architectural lighting design.

Our Studio includes a number of key illumination professionals with specialized experience in producing a creative, yet energy efficient design, which compliments the architectural concept. We work directly with our Electrical Department to produce a complete set of contract documents and specifications.

We follow a project from inception through construction to preserve the design integrity. Our goal is to balance aesthetics, budget considerations and energy usage to provide lighting design that everyone can judge as a success. The Lighting Design Studio's services include:

For interior applications:
No matter how large or small your project, AKF's Lighting Design Studio can handle it. Our interior lighting designs integrate easily with those of the owner, architect and other creative contributors. We work as a team and no one's ideas are discounted.

For exterior applications:
We will tailor our lighting designs to the needs of your building and/or environment. Using complimentary luminaire shapes, sizes and colors, we will conform to all local requirements, such as pole height restrictions, light trespass problems, foot-candle levels and safety concerns. Our façade designs can transform or highlight any architect's vision. Our sports and recreational designs can create a welcoming and playful nighttime experience.

Computer capabilities:
AKF's Lighting Design Studio can create point-by-point foot-candle calculations for any interior or exterior application. We can create a 3-D computer rendering showing an accurate picture of how your space will look and feel, before you have committed your construction funds.
